Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS-HDK):
The transfer switch is used to switch the load from the supplying electric utility network to the output of the diesel genset in case of possible supply anomalies. When the supplying utility power returns, the transfer switch will then transfer the load back to the utility source from the output of the genset, naturally in an automatic way.

The operation of the transfer switch:
Switching from the supplying electric power – from the utility source – to the load network if all voltage parameters are within the limits specified by the relevant standards. During a supplying electric power outage or if any parameter of the power is outside the allowed limit value, the automatic control unit of the genset starts the genset and, after the automatic switch of the ATS unit, transfers the so produced electric power to the load network. If the utility source returns to normal, the ATS automatically switches the load to the utility network and then stops the genset and sets it to standby mode.

Control electronics: (manual or automatic)
The control electronic unit is ‘heart’ of the genset. It ensures the automatic operation of the genset. The control buttons and controlling as well as monitoring the automatic and pre-set operating processes. E.g. – Monitoring the mains voltage parameters, - starting and stopping the engine, if necessary, - Full-scale control of and monitoring the engine, – Ensuring safe operation of the engine, taking the in-built protection functions into account, - Controlling the load transfer switch electronics, - Displaying communication and the operating parameters for the user.

Synchronization control:
Gensets equipped with a special synchronization control circuit make the parallel switching of 2 or more generators possible, as a result of which the performance of the individual units will add up and thus we can calculate with the total output of the gensets in the load network.

Operating principles
The engines of the gensets run at the same speed (1,500 rev/min +/- 0,5%) as a result of the synchronous communication between the gensets equipped with electronic speed control units and the synchronization control unit. Consequently, the voltage and frequency values measured at the output of the alternators of the individual getset will be the same. The output parameters are synchronized through adjustment or synchronism with the so-called MASTER generator to be chosen automatically (or manually). The current output phase position of the MASTER generator serves as a reference signal (to be followed). The other SLAVE gensets will continuously be adjusted to this signal in terms of speed, frequency and voltage by the synchronization control circuits built into each unit. As a result of this, the load current of the load network will be distributed evenly among the operating gensets. Should any of the synchronous gensets fail during operation, the defective unit is automatically disconnected from the system, without exerting any impact on the other units in any way, provided that the total output of the remaining gensets is enough to supply the load. If the MASTER is the disconnected unit, the system immediately and automatically selects one of the operating gensets as MASTER.

PMG (Permanent Magnetic Generator)
It is an individual power generating unit independent of the alternator. Due to the PMG, the equipment needs less time to take on the entire load and is less sensitive to the load variations than the so-called ‘normal generators’.

Fuel tanks, fuel supply systems
Internal-external fuel tanks with various capacity (70 l to 15,000 l) and design (underground, above-ground) as well as manual and automatic refill systems.
